Billy Bowman

June 13th, 2010

I’ll be heading to Montana next week to work with the Glacier National Park Fund in their efforts to publicize Billy Bowman nationally.

Going Fishing

June 7th, 2010

I’m taking some of the younger Book Monkeys to New jersey tomorrow to do some deep sea fishing.  There will be some fish eaten tomorrow one way or the other because we’re stopping for dinner at a seafood buffet.

Marine Mammal Stranding Center

May 29th, 2010

Marine Mammal Stranding Center is the title of the book I’m currently working on.  For those of you who are curious about the book writing process, I can tell you I recently enjoyed the research part of this project when I was treated to a behind the scenes tour of the Marine Mammal Stranding center in Brigantine, NJ.  Marine Mammal Stranding Center is the first book I’ve done about a scientific facility near my home.  It’s going to be fun to work with the staff of the Marine Mammal Stranding center.

Thanks, Volunteers

May 16th, 2010

I have been working with several volunteer groups recently.  This experience has opened my eyes to how much we all owe to selfless people.  THANKS YOU, VOLUNTEERS!

Anthony Turns 3!

May 12th, 2010

We had a little birthday party for Anthony today.  He is the cutest three year old in the world!

GO Rotarians!

May 3rd, 2010

I have had the pleasure recently to help some local Rotary club members in their efforts to help local families enhance their literacy.  It’s great to see volunteers helping less fortunate children!

Spanish Books

April 29th, 2010

I am working on some more Spanish books for younger readers.  It’s a good reminder of how hard it is to try to master a second language.  I can probably understand as much Spanish as a  2 year old child in Barcelona.

No Suit for Me

April 15th, 2010

I’ll be attending a breakfast on Friday to receive a literacy award for my philanthropic efforts.  Almost all of the attendees are business types who wear business suits every day.  I reluctantly don that style garb when someone dies or gets married.  Since I’m not expecting any spontaneous weddings or unplanned deaths, I’ll be the lone representative of the casual attire crowd.

Practicing Pathetic

April 3rd, 2010

It’s the day before Easter.  I’m practicing looking pathetic so my nieces and nephews will possibly try to cheer me up with candy from their baskets tomorrow.

Pakistan!

March 16th, 2010

I’m in the process of putting together a book donation to Pakistan! It’s almost more than my wee brain can process to think about young readers in such a faraway place reading my books.
